Indeed it does! I just noticed the trailer hitch on the front bumper. That’s an interesting detail. Maybe for repoing boat trailers out of tight spaces?

I’m kinda weird in that I’m obsessed with work trucks built for a specific purpose, and repo trucks are a really interesting subset of work trucks. Some of them are just ordinary tow trucks (although they usually just have wheel lifts and no big booms), but some of them go to great lengths to hide that they’re a repo truck until it’s too late. They even make wheel lifts that fold in and out of the truck’s bed via remote control. If this truck had one of those, it’d be even stealthier.

I don’t think that’s wierd at all. The only rub I can see about this particular truck is that with the additional length, steering might be difficult. Beyond what the hydraulic stuff would have cost, this one probably didn’t cost as much as something else might’ve.

That’s a good point about the length. It’d be interesting to chat up the builder and find out why certain things were done, not to mention it’s real purpose.

I suspect that the length is about leverage; keep the front end from popping up in the air. Also, I think those might be hydraulic fluid tanks forward of the wheel wells.

Could be. I doubt the hydraulic system would require that much fluid. I’m thinking those are fuel tanks for hours upon hours of trolling around looking for debters.
